Simulation

Roibert , 06-16-2021, 04:56 AM
Dear Forum

I need to simulate a OP AMP named MCP601. The model of this device, as declared in some forum, is not stable.
The solution could be to use the option .option csgunt 1E-12
Problem is, Altium have meny option but not include this..
It include the .rshunt , but not the CSHUNT.

Hope some could help.

Thanks

Roberto

Simulator engine was changed in AD20. It was improved in AD21, but my opinion that it is very bogus, unusable.
Try PSpice for TI. It is free, but using of 3th party (not TI parts), there is a restriction. You can use max 3 probes one time.

Thanks for your reply.

The option is mising in AD2019 and AD2020.. Dont seems a bug af simulation, but a real missing part .

Do you confirm that there is not another way to insert .Option ?

Thanks

Roberto

I don't know. I was attacking from TI's models in AD. AD was already crashed at import. Some Spice model function declarations were not supported. It seems as beta state, or half ready simulator at this moment. That's all what I can say.
Take a look Release Note of AD21 in aspect of simulator.

@Roibert does Alium fail to simulate with the model from Microchip itself?
The model file comments only talk about GMIN=100f
