Hi guys

I recently watched the video about the Saturn PCB toolkit and I have a question about Via impedance. In a high speed design, when we need to control impedance, let's say at 50 ohm if we use a via with different impedance which isn't match the trace impedance what's happening? Do we need to use a via with 50 ohm impedance in our traces too?

Unless you are designing interfaces above 5GHz, I would not worry about it. Even then, the stub can be more problem, than impedance. I recommend to watch this: Small Things Damaging Your High Speed Signals (with Bert Simonovich) https://youtu.be/ERvQeln9l-g
