Custom solder paste areas
JMFernandez , 05-04-2016, 12:08 PM
Hello.
I need to make the footprint of a HVSON14 component. In the manufacturer recommendations, the solder paste areas under the thermal pad do not occupy the total area of this pad. This is an image of the footprint:
How could I make these two areas of solder paste under the thermal pad (the central pad)? Altium gives you the option to resize this area, but as a result, you can define only an area on the center of the pad, but not two small areas as I need. Should I put negative values on the dimensions of this area in the solder paste layer and then add two objets (rectangles) in this layer?
Thank you in advance!!

Yes, that is the way I do it. Just put a moderate negative value, enough to uncover the pad of the solder paste and draw 2 solid regions on the solder paste layer.

yep, I do it exactly the same way as @mairomaster described.
