pins in schematic component

I have a component that has 4 pads that should be joined A1, 2, 3 and 4.

In the schematic I set the pin
designator to A1,A2,A3,A4

However in routing they are not joined.

@angelsix I don't know answer to this question. We always use the same number of pins in schematic and PCB footprint.

Ok thanks. I tried a few ways but then I was thinking about what you said, and to be honest I think it makes for a clearer schematic if I explicitly define all connections for a footprint as individual pins. Makes the model not as nice looking, more clearer.
