Altium library management

mpcb , 10-09-2023, 07:42 PM
I wish to learn Altium and I decided to follow Robert YouTube tutorials, but I have one question about libraryes, for symbols and footprints created by me: what is the rule or method to organize the libraryes. Any advice on this topic could help me. Thank you very much for your help

Setup your own rules and format for both schematic and pcb library. And use those as a standard for all CAD irrespective of whatever tools you use.

there is no one way to do that, so you can do it any way you like. Even in established companies, libraries keep changing. But usually people start with file libraries (symbol and footprint libraries) as they are simplest to create. When starting, you can simply create everything in one file .... if your library grows, you may move to different kind of library anyway e.g. database library or cloud library (Altium 365 library).
