adding texture in 3d model

ATTA , 08-17-2024, 05:43 PM
Hello everybody
I have make my personal lib in altium designer. I have make extruded 3d models of all these components.
Now i want to add texture in these 3d models. I click on texture option in dialogue box but i have no texture in my laptop.
My question is
(1) How to create texture for 3d models of components?
My second question is
(2) Can we create Hollow cylinderical 3d body ?
My third question is
(3) Can we edit extruded 3d body in a pure circle ?

Thanks Regards

I always create my 3D models in FreeCad and add the STEP files to Altium.
Although I have never tried adding a texture.

I am not sure if I have ever seen models in Altium with a texture ... never tried it. When you find out if that is possible, please let us know

It is possible. I added a PNG file and it was shown on top of the extruded body.
I have not tried adding one to the STEP files (in FreeCad).
Altium cannot add texture to STEP files though.

Hi sir
I was tried this method on extruded body but there was pixel problem. The image got blure on the body.
How can i fix this issue ?

I do not know.
As I mentioned, I create (detailed) STEP files in FreeCad and use those in Altium.
I have never before used the texture feature in Altium.
For me, texture is to make it look like wood, stone, etc. Usually electronic components do not need that.
