Hi all,
I have trouble managing my component library

I have Altium 365 and would like to add "[KamCap HT-5R5-Z105VYE08](https://www.kamcappower.com/products/high-temperature-5.5v-super-capacitors/)" to my component's part choice.

However it was not searchable on Altium's default part list. (see screenshot)

I have multiple BOMs that use this component, hence I don't want to "add custom solution" on each BOM.
Anyone have any advice how to add a manual part choice to a component?

But is it an alternative or your standard part?
If it is your standard, then why did you not add that data to the component itself?

thats exactly what I wanted to do. (the part's choice thing is within component itself)
However Altium is too automised/integrated, this choice isn't within their massive list.
I would like to add it manually but don't know how to.

"Solutions" are in the ActiveBom. not in the part.
In the part, you have "Part Choises" with the "Edit Supplier Links" button.
Also note that the "list" is not in Altium itself. Altium uses Octopart.com for that. OctoPart does not know the "HT-5R5-Z105VYE08".
If you want to manually add the supplier (without automatic capabilities), you can add 2 parameters:
"Supplier 1" = "KamCap"
"Supplier Part Number 1" = "HT-5R5-Z105VYE08"

Besides, KamCap also does not know the HT-5R5-Z105VYE08.

Thanks for the reply. sadly thats not the solution I'm looking for.
I definitely know the parameter option, however going that route means completely ditching the "part choice" automation facility that Altium provides. (part choice does save within components here...)
I'd also have to update/migrate every single other component's parameter to align with this change......

No, this is no different than what part choice does. Look at the parameters, you will see the part choice there too - locked, but there.
And again, the problem is not with Altium, but with Kamcap that does not provide the data or has distributors.

Parameter's "MPN 1" and Part choices' "MPN 1" are two separate columns within ActiveBOM.
They do not share and can be different values?

Part choice in the symbol, not in ActiveBoM.
ActiveBoM has solutions.
Neither of which will work with Kamcap as they (Kamcap) do not provide data.

I am getting more and more confused, like are we on different Altium version.
did you enter supplier and supplier part number manually yourself?
because mine doesn't automatically provide that by selecting part choice.
Anyway, as you've said, there no manual way to fix this anyway.

The manual parameter part choice was already in AD10, the first I worked with.
What are your settings?
- I only want Manufacturer Part Number to be used.
- No parameters added.
- I work with just schematic library, no A365
