Hello,
While compiling the schematic in Altium Designer, we are encountering the following fatal error:
Fail to add alternate item for Component U2 (XI6843ARQGALP) in variant “002”. Item “CMP-0860942-3” not found.

From the message, it appears that the schematic variant is trying to assign an alternate item (CMP-0860942-3) to component U2, but this item is not available in the currently linked libraries.

Could you please help clarify the following:

Why is this alternate item being referenced for U2 in variant “002”?
Is the alternate part expected to exist in a specific library, or is the variant configuration incorrect?

What is the recommended way to resolve this error?
Should the alternate item be added to the library? Or should the alternate part assignment be removed/updated from the Variant Manager? Is this alternate item mandatory for compilation, or can the base component be used instead? At the moment, this error is blocking schematic compilation, so guidance on the correct and intended configuration would be very helpful. Please let us know the best approach to fix this issue.

Going from the name "CMP-0860942-3" I would say that is an A365 component.
However, to resolve the issue, you need to manage your variants.
Variants are in the project through Project / Variants (so **not** the library.)

Sorry for the late reply.
I’m not very familiar with how to check or manage Variants yet. Based on the screenshots I shared, this is what I understood so far.
I will check the Project → Variants section and i see this
Please let me know if there is any specific setting or option in Variants that I should look for to resolve this issue. Your guidance would be really helpful.

actually i take ti pcb for this project and i try to edit this project for study i see this error.

If you click the block in variant 002 and component U2, a set of 3 dots appear (right arrow in screenshot).
Click that and a window will appear. Click the fitted button (left arrow in screenshot).
That will remove the alternative part.
