Source for DDR3 Memory

ee_nerd , 09-24-2016, 02:06 PM
I am trying to find a good source of a of high density >8Gb DDR2 or DDR3 1066 SDRAM memory chips. Most suppliers want to sell 1000+ components, or some lower density memory <8Gb. Does anyone know of a source of high density memory that sells in low volume?

I found a few choices on Digikey, but not that many:

Such big density chips don't seem to be widely available. When you are looking for such, make sure they would be available in the near future and won't become obsolete soon.

At this moment, anything above 4Gb is expensive. We tested 8Gb on our iMX6 Rex boards and we use Micron MT41K512M16HA (from Digikey or Arrow or something like this and it is possible to buy low quantity https://www.arrow.com/en/products/mt...ron-technology ) .

BE CAREFUL! There are differences between the chips, e.g. some chips need additional ZQ connection and many chips are two die silicons - so not real 8Gb chips but rather 2x 4Gb.

Thanks for the input, I ended up using a dual die 4Gbit lpddr2 part from micron.
