Use case:
hierarchical design and design reuse.
Using DeviceSheet_A, DeviceSheet_B, DeviceSheet_C in top level TitleSheet1.

Designators in
DeviceSheet_A: U1, R1, R2, R3
DeviceSheet_C: U1, U2, R1, C1,C2, D1, D2, R3
DeviceSheet_B: U2, R1, R2, R3

Issue:
Error in Compile:
Issue with U1, U2, R1, R2, R3 as the Designator is Duplicate.

Question:
How do you annotate this? which style? any help appreciated
(tried, but failing)

(Not having issue with Multi-channel as the Designators get amended, so lets not go to multi-channel)

When I start such project, each sheet has like a pre-number, ie. 100, 200, 1000, 1100, etc. It rarely will happen that you have more than 100 of the same category (ie. resistor, capacitors, etc.) on 1 sheet.

This was the similar workaround i came up with and it works.

A: You might want to add a "name" in the suffix if you use device sheets often and have many.

You can also go into Project Options and then into the "Multi-channel" tab you can change the naming format for Multi-channel annotation.

But I usually use the regular annotation function first, and then I use Board Level Annotation afterwards to name all my multi-channel blocks.
