3.3V to 12V bidirectional Logic level shifter

I am working on a project which I need to translate 3.3V UART to 12V UART signal or vise versa. I am not sure the attached image on will work or not. I have researched a lot on online but have not found proper information about this.

Sorry its not necessary to be bidirectional but need to maintain the direction of RX and TX. But if it possible to make bidirectional it willbe better.

Yes this schematic should work. Whole google is actually full of materials on this topic. But since UART is unidirectional I just recommend to you to use simple voltage divider. Only 2 resistors needed.

If I want to use universal on HV side like I want to give 5V and 12V TTL and use a 3.3V zener diode on LV side maybe the side willbe protected and device will work properly.

12V UART??? Do you want to blow things up?
I assume you want a RS232 transceiver:

Actually no. Some china inverter supply 12V level UART, So that its need to shift to 3.3V logic.

You do realize that RS232 is typically 12V (or -12V depending on the state)?
