Hi all. I received a DSN and BRD from previous project and trying to sync and update the PCB at my pc. I configured the sync setup path but when "update layout" runs the pcb opens with error log with message symbol name too long. On the capture sis the popup message is OrCAP-2429 picture attached. The schematic and the PCB are not synchronized so when a schematic component is selected it's not highlighted on the PCB. Previously, a previous version of DSN and BRD files would give the same errors but at least they were synchronized.

Any ideas on this?

I do not have any orcad/allegro knowledge, but could it also be the name of the file path that is to long?

what does the log says?

Hi Robert, the log was mentioning the schematic component parameter name which was indeed very long. The problem was solved from the brd file side, when setting the "long name size" parameter from 50 to 255. Access is from setup -> design parameters. After that the sch and the pcb synchronized properly.
