Selecting Components in Explorer Based on Project (Where-Used) Batch Editing Parameters

instigator_za , 08-26-2025, 04:04 PM
My company assigns an internal company ID/part number per component. This happens via an external process and is only done once a design reaches release (to avoid creating unnecessary IDs for components that will never be used). These IDs are then provided back to us for use in BoMs etc.

We are wanting to edit the company workspace components to include this id in the component parameters for reuse in other projects later. Doing this one by one is laborious and leaves room for human error.

Is there a method to select the all the components in a specific workspace project and adding them to a batch edit? The Batch editing tool works great for this, the issue is selecting the desired components based on a search or filter.

I am open to any other method that can achieve this. i.e. A method that pushes local parameters from components in our schematics back to workspace components. (I just don't know how this could be achieved)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I don't use workspaces, so I am not sure. I would probably asked someone from altium. But when I played around, I think this should be possible.
